Jordan’s King Abdullah Advocates for Regional Peace Efforts

Amman:King Abdullah II of Jordan met with British National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell during Powell's visit to the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Jordanian monarch emphasized the necessity of enhancing international efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive regional de-escalation. This initiative is intended to secure the safety of Arab nations and restore stability across the region.

King Abdullah stressed the urgent need to stop severe Israeli activities in the West Bank and Jerusalem. He also highlighted the significance of supporting Lebanon and Syria in their pursuit of security, stability, and sovereignty.

During the meeting, discussions also centered on the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom, including ways to advance cooperation between the two countries.
