Doha: King Abdullah II of Jordan and Chinese President Xi Jinping underscored the need for de-escalation and stability in the Middle East during their meeting in Beijing. The leaders engaged in discussions focused on bilateral relations and regional issues of common interest, with King Abdullah emphasizing Jordan's dedication to enhancing cooperation with China across various sectors.
According to Qatar News Agency, the discussions highlighted opportunities for expanding economic collaboration in critical areas such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food and engineering industries, tourism, education, and culture. King Abdullah expressed optimism about the productive nature of the talks, aimed at deepening economic ties between the two nations.
President Xi Jinping reiterated the significance of resolving the Palestinian issue through a just and comprehensive approach based on the two-state solution. He affirmed China's readiness to bolster cooperation with Jordan to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The meeting concluded with the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between Jordan and China. These agreements cover a range of sectors, including e-commerce, the digital economy, film production, tourism, media, and agriculture, marking a commitment to strengthening ties and fostering development in these areas.
