As part of its continuous commitment to enhance healthcare in Yemen, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) conducted a measles vaccination campaign for children in the Midi and Hayran districts and parts of Haradh and Abs in Hajjah Governorate, and northwestern Razih district in Saada Governorate. Running from April 29 to May 30, the campaign saw 15,415 children receiving vaccinations from 17 health workers in the specified districts of Hajjah and Saada. Through the provision of essential vaccines and supplies, the initiative aimed to bolster these regions' ability to combat and manage measles. In addition to vaccination efforts, the campaign focused on educating the local population about the severity of measles and the critical role of vaccination in disease prevention. About 2,000 brochures and informative posters highlighting the risks of measles to children's health were distributed, emphasizing the importance of vaccination to shield children from the disease and its potentia l severe complications. Moreover, the project identified 1,134 pregnant and lactating women, along with 1,030 newborns in the targeted areas, with the objective of facilitating healthcare service planning for both displaced and host communities. The endeavor forms part of the Kingdom's initiatives, facilitated through its humanitarian arm KSrelief, to combat diseases and epidemics, curbing their spread across all governorates and regions of Yemen.
