Beirut: Lebanese President Joseph Aoun discussed Wednesday with Badr Al Saad, President of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), ways to provide the necessary facilities for the Fund to finance development projects in Lebanon.
According to Qatar News Agency, during his meeting with the Fund’s delegation, Aoun emphasized that the most important foundations for building a state were economic and financial reforms, relying on transparency and good governance. He further stated that another critical foundation was providing necessary facilities to financial funds that have been collaborating with Lebanon for years, including the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), which has financed several projects in cooperation with the Council for Development and Reconstruction.
For his part, Al Saad highlighted that the objective of his visit to Lebanon with the accompanying delegation was to reactivate development work funded by the Fund after a hiatus that lasted for years. He reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to implementing the loans granted to Lebanon, with a focus on development loans, especially in the fields of education and health.
