Beirut: Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun met Monday in Beirut with a World Bank (WB) delegation headed by Ousmane Dion, World Bank (WB) Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa. During the meeting, President Aoun affirmed that the Lebanese government is proceeding with economic and financial reforms in cooperation with the Parliament with the aim of reviving the country's financial and economic situation.
According to Qatar News Agency, President Aoun highlighted the laws passed by the Parliament and those still under consideration or preparation. The meeting emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of reforms related to the banking sector, as this will have a direct impact on creating the appropriate conditions for the World Bank Board of Directors' approval of the reconstruction loan.
