Beirut: Lebanese President General Joseph Aoun met on Wednesday with Minister of Interior Ahmad Al Hajjar and stressed the importance of holding parliamentary elections on time in May 2026, ensuring that all preparations are completed within the legal deadlines, the Lebanese Presidency said in a statement.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Minister of Interior had previously affirmed the ministry's commitment to holding the parliamentary elections on schedule (May 2026), in accordance with the prevailing law that sets constitutional deadlines, the first of which concludes on 20 November as the final date for expatriate registration.
