Lebanese Prime Minister, Egyptian Foreign Minister Discuss Developments in Lebanon’s South


Beirut: Lebanese Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam and Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty discussed the latest updates in southern Lebanon and the ongoing endeavours to de-escalate tensions and achieve calm there, during a phone call on Saturday.



According to Qatar News Agency, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Abdelatty reiterated his country’s total rejection of any violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He emphasized the importance of reducing tensions and prioritizing de-escalation to preserve the security and stability of Lebanon and the wider region.



Moreover, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering stance in support of Lebanon’s sovereignty, national unity, and independent decision-making. He also emphasized the Lebanese state’s authority over all its territory.



Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s support for Lebanon’s state institutions to fully carry out their responsibilities in maintaining the country’s stability and security. He highlighted the importance of strengthening their ability to face current challenges and safeguarding the interests of the Lebanese people.
