BEIRUT: A Lebanese shepherd was killed Tuesday after being targeted by an Israeli Air Force drone in southern Lebanon, in a new violation of the ceasefire agreement between the Lebanese side and the Israeli entity. Local sources reported that the incident occurred amidst escalating tensions in the region. According to Qatar News Agency, the shepherd's killing coincided with Israeli machine gun fire towards the town of Majdal Zun in the western sector of southern Lebanon. This event marks a significant breach of the recently established ceasefire agreement between the two sides. A ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Israeli entity entered into force at dawn last Wednesday. This followed an Israeli aggression on Lebanese territories that persisted for over a year. The aggression intensified at the end of last September, resulting in the deaths and injuries of thousands of civilians and the displacement of more than a million people from the southern part of the country. The recent drone strike adds to the growing list of violations, further complicating the fragile peace in the region.
