Libya Deports 174 Irregular Migrants in Coordination with IOM

Tripoli: The Libyan authorities deported 174 irregular migrants to their home countries through a voluntary return flight, in coordination with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), after completing all necessary legal and administrative procedures.

According to Qatar News Agency, the relevant authorities explained that the operation is part of the Libyan Directorate for Combating Illegal Migration's plan to enhance security and stability and address the issue in accordance with applicable laws and legislation, in cooperation with local and international partners.

This comes after a recent announcement by the Libyan authorities of the deportation of more than 117,000 migrants as part of a broader strategy to regulate irregular migration and ease security pressures.
