Sichuan: A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Sichuan Province in southwest China on Wednesday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The quake occurred at a depth of 6 kilometers, the center said.
According to Qatar News Agency, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. Sichuan is one of China's most seismically active regions due to its location along the eastern edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where major tectonic plates converge, making it particularly prone to earthquakes.
