Massive Fire Erupts at Chevron Refinery in Los Angeles County


Los angeles: A massive fire broke out at a Chevron refinery located in Los Angeles County, California, according to local media reports.



According to Qatar News Agency, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass stated that the city’s fire department is fully prepared to respond to any requests for assistance. She added that there is currently no known impact on Los Angeles International Airport.



Authorities have not received any reports of injuries or immediate evacuations.



The Los Angeles Times reported that the cause of the fire remains unclear. Meanwhile, CBS News said that law enforcement and firefighting units rushed to the scene following reports of an explosion.



The refinery has a production capacity of 290,000 barrels per day, with its primary outputs including gasoline, jet fuel, and diesel, according to Chevron’s official website.
