Mediation Efforts Between the US and Iran Ongoing with Qatar’s Involvement

Doha:Director of the Media and Communication Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim bin Sultan Al Hashmi affirmed that mediation efforts between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran are ongoing and uninterrupted.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Hashmi stated these efforts aim to achieve progress on issues concerning both parties. Talks are actively taking place, with messages being exchanged between Washington and Tehran, and Qatar is serving as the mediator. He emphasized the importance of finding negotiable solutions that consider the concerns of all parties involved.

Regarding the Iranian pilots, Al Hashmi confirmed that Qatar has addressed the issue from the beginning, with the Iranian side informed of the latest developments. He noted Qatar's openness to an Iranian visit to discuss the measures taken.

On regional developments, Al Hashmi highlighted Qatar's support for initiatives by regional states to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, including the "Mecca Pact." This alliance is seen as a means to enhance regional cooperation and ensure stability.

He reiterated Qatar's support for Saudi Arabia in safeguarding its security and territorial integrity. Al Hashmi condemned the Houthi group's actions against Saudi Arabia, including targeting Islamic holy sites and civilian facilities, and expressed Qatar's backing of any measures by Saudi Arabia to maintain its security and territorial integrity.

Al Hashmi also stressed Qatar's commitment to preserving regional security and stability, while noting it is too early to discuss Qatar joining the "Mecca Pact."
