Minister of Awqaf Heads Qatari Hajj Mission for 1446 AH

Doha: HE Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim, has issued a ministerial decision forming the Qatari Hajj Mission for the 1446 AH 2025 season. This decision includes designating the affiliated support units operating under the mission's framework.

According to Qatar News Agency, the formation of the Qatari Hajj Mission is a part of Qatar's ongoing efforts to ensure that pilgrims from the nation can perform their rituals with ease, safety, and spiritual reassurance. Under this framework, HE Minister of Awqaf will lead the Qatari Hajj Mission, while Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri, Director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, will serve as Deputy Head.

The mission will comprise members from key government entities such as the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Health, and Awqaf. This collaboration aims to ensure coordinated functions and support for the nation's pilgrims.

The decision also calls for an advisory committee and several specialized administrative and technical units. These include the religious guidance and fatwa unit, medical services unit, inspection and oversight unit, public relations and media unit, secretariat unit, information systems unit, coordination, follow-up, and airport affairs unit, financial unit, communications and support unit, pilgrimage services unit, holy sites security unit, and logistics unit.

An official media mission will accompany the Qatari Hajj Mission, featuring representatives from Qatar Television, Al Rayyan Satellite Channel, and Qatar Radio. This team will cover the mission's efforts and broadcast the pilgrimage atmosphere while highlighting Qatar's commitment to serving its pilgrims.
