Minister of Culture Tours Baku International Book Fair as Qatar Serves as Guest of Honor


Baku: HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani toured the Baku International Book Fair, marking Qatar’s participation as the Guest of Honor. The fair, which continues until October 7, featured a significant Qatari presence, highlighting the country’s cultural and intellectual contributions.



According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Minister visited the Qatari pavilion, where he explored the latest literary and intellectual publications from Qatari publishing houses. The pavilion also hosted cultural events and heritage activities that showcased Qatar’s national identity. Accompanying HE the Minister were HE Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Adel Karimli, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture Dr. Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Ali, and HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Azerbaijan Mohammed bin Hamad Al Hajr.



The Qatari pavilion drew a large number of visitors who engaged with the publications and programs. The pavilion offered a unique cultural experience with its display of books, folk arts, and traditional crafts. HE the Minister also toured other country pavilions, meeting with publishers and intellectuals to discuss cooperation in the publishing industry and cultural exchange.



HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Dr. Ghanem bin Mubarak bin Ghanem Mohammed Al Ali, expressed his satisfaction with Qatar’s participation, noting that it aligns with the Ministry’s goals of fostering communication with Azerbaijan, strengthening cultural diplomacy, and promoting Qatari intellectual output. He emphasized that the participation showcases Qatari culture and implements a cultural cooperation agreement between Qatar and Azerbaijan.



The Ministry’s pavilion, designed with traditional Qatari architecture, offered visitors a comprehensive cultural experience. On the first day, the pavilion attracted a diverse audience, providing them with insights into Qatari culture, access to Ministry publications, and live demonstrations of Qatari handicrafts.
