Stockholm: HE Minister of Labour, Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, engaged in strategic discussions with HE Minister of Employment of the Kingdom of Sweden, Johan Britz, during an official delegation visit from the Ministry of Labour to Sweden. The meeting aimed at reviewing and enhancing bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Sweden, specifically in the labour sector.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two ministers exchanged views on several critical areas, including promoting social dialogue and strengthening occupational safety and health measures. Furthermore, they discussed fostering collaboration in technology, digital transformation, and the green economy, vital sectors for both nations’ future development.
The discussions also explored opportunities for advancing training and capacity-building programmes targeted at national workforces, aiming to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge for evolving job markets.
HE Dr. Al Marri emphasized that this visit underscores the State of Qatar’s commitment to deepening international partnerships and exchanging expertise with countries that are pioneers in labour market regulation and governance. He noted that such engagements are instrumental in consolidating the strong and longstanding relations between Qatar and Sweden, ultimately contributing to shared objectives in sustainable development and the promotion of decent work.
