Minister of Public Health Engages with Global Health Leaders at Doha Summit

Doha: HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud convened with various counterparts and heads of delegations attending the 6th Global Mental Health Ministerial Summit, held over two days in Doha. The meetings aimed at reinforcing cooperation within the health sector and delving into pivotal topics discussed during the summit.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency conducted separate meetings with several high-ranking officials including HE Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population of Egypt, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar; HE Minister of Health of Bahrain, Dr. Jaleela Al Sayed Jawad Hasan; HE Minister of Public Health of Lebanon, Dr. Rakan Nasreddine; HE Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Erkin Checheibaev; HE Minister of Health of Cyprus, Michael Damianos; HE Prime Minister's Coordinator for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination in Pakistan, Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bharath; and HE Ambassador of the Netherlands to Qatar, Ferdinand Lahnstein.

The discussions explored potential pathways to enhance collaboration in the health sector between Qatar and these nations. Additionally, His Excellency engaged with HE Dr. Hanan Balkhi, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, to discuss strengthening ties between Qatar and the World Health Organization, alongside the issues tackled at the summit.
