Minister of Social Development, Family Opens “From Care to Empowerment” Exhibition

Doha: HE Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi inaugurated the "From Care to Empowerment" exhibition, organized by the Ministry on the sidelines of the Second World Summit for Social Development Doha 2025. The opening was attended by a number of officials, experts, and representatives of regional and international organizations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the exhibition documents the journey of social development in the State of Qatar from the 1950s to the present day, through an interactive visual display that narrates the country's transition from a care-based approach to comprehensive empowerment. It showcases key historical milestones and national achievements in the fields of education, health, women, childhood, community development, and humanitarian work.

The exhibition traces the evolution of governmental and institutional efforts in human development and empowerment through various phases. It begins with the establishment of formal education in the 1950s, continues through the creation of pioneering social and health institutions, and culminates in the establishment of the Ministry of Social Development and Family Affairs in 2021.

Her Excellency emphasized that the exhibition embodies the national vision for social development, which places human beings at the heart of development. It reflects a sustainable national path based on principles of social justice, community participation, and empowerment, aligning with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

She noted that showcasing this rich history reflects the state's commitment to human development and enhancing the role of individuals in building a cohesive society characterized by dignity, well-being, and sustainability. The exhibition features broad participation from ministries and national institutions that represent key pillars in the country's development journey. It serves as a testament to Qatar's journey "from care to empowerment" and its commitment to supporting human development and building a cohesive society.
