Riyadh: HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed has affirmed the strength of Qatari-Saudi relations in the fields of industry, trade, and mutual investment, noting that they have witnessed a remarkable development reflected in the level of coordination and cooperation, within the framework of the initiatives, projects, and agreements emanating from the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE the Minister noted, during the ministerial session entitled “Investment Trends in Economic Sectors”, at the Qatari-Saudi Business Forum held in Riyadh, jointly organized by the Qatar Chamber and the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the significant growth in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries. It rose from USD 802.5 million in 2023 to USD 1.45 billion in 2024, with a growth rate exceeding 82 percent.
He stressed that the forum represents an important platform for discussing economic issues of common interest, enhancing mutual investments, and developing joint work mechanisms. His Excellency called on Qatari and Saudi investors and companies to explore the opportunities available in the markets of the two countries, with a focus on value-added sectors that support sustainable economic development.
During the ministerial session, a number of Qatari and Saudi companies operating in the sectors of business development, projects, e-marketing, environmental solutions, and smart cities were honored. The forum aims to enhance trade, investment, and industrial cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and explore available investment opportunities, in line with the vision of the two countries to achieve sustainable economic growth and effective strategic partnerships.
The forum also witnessed several dialogue sessions, with the first session discussing “Towards fruitful economic integration” and the second session addressing “Promising investment opportunities”, with participation from representatives of the public and private sectors from the State of Qatar.
During the forum, potential joint projects were reviewed, and ways to enhance cooperation based on mutual benefit between the two sides were discussed. On the sidelines of the forum, HE Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed met with HE Saudi Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, in the presence of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed Al Attiyah. They discussed topics of common interest aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade and investment.
HE the Minister also visited the “Qatar Exports” office in Riyadh, where he was briefed on the services provided to support the entry of Qatari products and services into the Saudi market and enhance their competitiveness, as well as its role in providing information on import requirements and facilitating communication between Qatari exporters and Saudi importers.
