Doha: The Ministry of Culture launched on Tuesday evening the Iranian Cultural Week in Qatar, at the permanent Darb Al Saai headquarters in Umm Salal, in partnership with the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Iranian Cultural Week in Doha is part of the cultural events program that the Ministry of Culture includes in its annual activities with sisterly and friendly countries. The initiative aims to strengthen cultural relations and cultural diplomacy while introducing the cultures of various countries.
The Iranian Cultural Week showcases a broad spectrum of Iranian Islamic art and civilization. Several Iranian artists are participating to present their artworks, offering the public a unique cultural experience and a chance to engage with Iran’s rich heritage.
The week-long event features a range of daily artistic and theatrical performances. It includes exhibitions of fine arts, traditional crafts, and artworks in various fields such as music, Persian calligraphy, gilding, fashion, carpets, painting, embroidery, and more, highlighting the diverse facets of Iranian culture.
The opening day’s events included a concert featuring traditional Iranian folk music by the “Sazineh” band, a traditional dance performance by the “Farkhah” band, storytelling by the Iranian “Naqqali”, a traditional henna ceremony, and the screening of an Iranian film titled “In the Arms of the Tree”.
The events are designed to introduce the public to the various facets of Iranian culture, promote cultural dialogue, and encourage artistic communication between creators from different countries. It also aims to highlight both local and international cultural and artistic heritage while supporting talents in these fields.
