Doha: The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs’ Department of Religious Call and Guidance is taking part in the third edition of the ‘Kafa’ campaign under the slogan ‘Traffic Safety’, in cooperation with the youth committee of the Al Arabi Sports Club. The department’s participation is part of its ongoing efforts to spread awareness and promote a culture of traffic safety.
According to Qatar News Agency, the participation aims to raise awareness about the importance of adhering to traffic rules, preserving lives and property, and reducing traffic accidents that pose a major challenge to societies. The department is presenting more than 36 awareness lectures and educational meetings in schools and various institutions as part of its contribution to spreading a culture of safety among members of society, especially the youth.
Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, Assistant Director of the Department of Religious Call and Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, stressed the department’s keenness on providing awareness programs that contribute to educating society. He highlighted the importance of spreading traffic awareness to reduce human and material losses resulting from accidents.
The Assistant Director pointed out that traffic accidents are among the most prominent problems facing societies worldwide, which requires concerted efforts between various parties to spread awareness. He praised the existing cooperation in the campaign between the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Transport, and the Qatar Transportation and Traffic Safety Center at Qatar University.
