Doha:The Ministry of Justice has launched a new website for the Official Gazette and the Al Meezan Legal Portal, marking a significant step toward establishing a comprehensive national digital platform for legal information in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Qatar News Agency, the initiative was unveiled in the presence of HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali bin Issa Al Hassan Al Mohannadi. The project is a response to the directives from HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, aiming to enhance government efficiency and public services through digital transformation.
The newly launched platforms are designed not only to improve the legal and justice systems but also to create a unified infrastructure for legal information. The Minister emphasized that this initiative supports Qatar's digital transformation goals by delivering accessible government services and a more competitive legal environment.
The websites are aligned with international standards for government digital transformation, focusing on user-friendly access to reliable digital services. The initiative is part of the Third National Development Strategy, aiming to improve institutional efficiency, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance the business environment.
The platforms integrate legal information into Qatar's digital infrastructure, offering a comprehensive resource of national legislation and facilitating access to data. This project underscores the right to access legal information as a public right.
The launch represents a shift in legal publishing, providing an integrated digital system with efficient information retrieval and organization. AI-powered technologies are used to ensure accuracy and reliability, with authoritative legal texts as the primary reference.
Ministerial Decision No. 129 of 2026 establishes regulations for electronic publication, with the electronic edition of the Official Gazette being issued as an authenticated official text. The Al Meezan Legal Portal includes a wide range of legislative instruments, judicial rulings, and agreements, available in Arabic and English, ensuring accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities.
The portal encourages public participation in legislative development, allowing proposals on draft legislative instruments and comments on existing legislation. This engagement aims to strengthen the connection between government institutions and the public.
The digital platforms are expected to boost confidence among investors by promoting legal transparency and efficiency, ultimately enhancing Qatar's attractiveness as an investment destination. The project is a collaborative effort involving multiple national partners, supporting the Ministry of Justice's strategic plan for 2025-2030.
