MWL Secretary-General Delivers Eid Sermon at King Faisal Mosque in Islamabad


Makkah, At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, delivered the Eid sermon today at the King Faisal Mosque in Pakistan. The mosque is the largest in South Asia and the Indian subcontinent, and the fourth largest globally, capable of accommodating 300,000 worshippers inside and 200,000 in its courtyards. The sermon was simultaneously interpreted into Urdu, spoken by nearly a billion people worldwide. Al-Issa commenced his sermon by congratulating Muslims on Eid Al-Fitr and praying for Allah Almighty to accept their fasting and prayers during Ramadan. He emphasized that Islamic Sharia represents the pinnacle of moral and behavioral standards. The MWL Secretary-General highlighted the importance for Muslims to rectify misconceptions about Islam through actions rather than words. He also acknowledged Muslim women’s significant role in their societies a
nd homes, emphasizing their influence in nurturing children with righteousness and correct religious principles. Al-Issa concluded by praying for the people of Gaza, entreating Allah Almighty to alleviate their oppression, shield them from aggression, and grant them victory.
