Doha: The National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT) and the Supreme Judiciary Council (SJC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the fight against human trafficking and facilitate the exchange of expertise and relevant information.
According to Qatar News Agency, the MoU was signed by HE Minister of Labour and Chair of NCCHT, Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, and HE President of the SJC and President of the Court of Cassation, Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Hassan Al Mohannadi.
This agreement aims to enhance joint efforts and establish a comprehensive framework that supports both national and international initiatives to combat human trafficking and protect the rights of victims. It aligns with judicial and administrative practices, as well as applicable laws, regional agreements, and international treaties.
Under the MoU, the two parties will collaborate on exchanging expertise, strengthening efforts to combat human trafficking, and developing mechanisms to protect victims. The agreement also aims to foster enhanced coordination among judicial, governmental, and relevant organizations, with the goal of bolstering support for victims and ensuring effective protection.
