After Qatar won in 2010 the bid to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the infrastructure and construction sectors witnessed a significant leap, whether it was related to roads, stadiums, railways, or the construction of new airports and ports. Qatar launched several monumental projects, including Hamad International Airport, Hamad Port, Qatar National Library, Qatar Islamic Art Museum, Lusail City, Doha Metro, and other achievements and initiatives. In addition to the country's urban expansion, the focus on human development has been at the core of developmental policies over the decades, by developing educational methods and curricula to meet societal needs and provide the country with qualified scientific and professional cadres. This was followed by providing job opportunities for Qatari graduates. Qatar has invested in educational development programs and skill enhancement to build a generation of educated and skilled youth, aligning with Qatar's National Vision 2030, which made human development a cornerstone of comprehensive advancement. Qatar's policies have reflected in its position in the United Nations' Human Development Index. In recent years, it has topped the list among Arab countries. This ranking depends on various indicators, notably a country's progress or lag in healthcare, education, and more. Upon HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani assuming the reins of governance in the country on Jun. 25, 2013, following the announcement by HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, in a speech addressing the Qatari people, handing over power to his trusted heir and the allegiance of the Qatari people to crown him as the country's Amir, a new phase of growth began. Under his rule, Qatar has led globally and regionally in many indicators, ranking first globally in capital inflow, political and legislative spheres, per capita income, and unemployment rate. It has also been ranked the top Arab country in higher education quality, humanitarian affairs, peace index, and human development index. Currently, Qatar has become the focus of global attention, not only due to its remarkable success in hosting the 2022 World Cup but also through its strong emergence and prominence on the global diplomatic stage, establishing itself as a capital where world leaders seek mediation or solutions for complex problems.
