Doha: A new batch of experts took the legal oath on Wednesday to be registered on the Ministry of Justice’s (MOJ) official roster of court-certified experts, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 16 of 2017, regulating expert witness practices.
According to Qatar News Agency, the batch comprises seven national experts specializing in fields, including accounting expertise, real estate appraisal, mechanical engineering, taxation, human resources management, Information Technology, and vehicle valuation. They also include experts in newly introduced and specialized domains, such as gold and diamond valuation, and environmental and chemical sciences.
Director of the MOJ’s Experts Department, Abdullah Abu Shehab Al Marri, congratulated the new experts on taking the legal oath. He highlighted the significant role legal experts perform as adjuncts to the judiciary and as key pillars of accomplishing prompt justice. This role stems from their responsibilities in detecting evidence and proofs related to technical aspects of various cases. Expertise reports play a crucial role in streamlining the issuance of rulings and the adjudication of cases.
He affirmed the MOJ’s commitment, under the directives of HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, to enhancing the capabilities of national experts. The aim is to provide expertise that aligns with the comprehensive renaissance the nation is witnessing across all domains. The ministry is focused on creating an environment conducive to an integrated system of Qatari expertise and augmenting this system with new expertise based on the needs of judiciary authorities and other entities.
