NHRC Delegation Holds Meetings with International Human Rights Officials in London

London: A delegation from the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) met with a number of international human rights officials in London. The delegation engaged in discussions with Quinn McKew, the Executive Director of ARTICLE 19, a freedom of expression organization. These discussions focused on cooperation in promoting freedom of expression and exchanging expertise in the development of national legislation and policies. They also explored cooperation on digital rights issues and the protection of human rights defenders.

According to Qatar News Agency, the delegation further held meetings with May Romanos and Ella Knight, who are officials of the migrant labor working group at Amnesty International. During these meetings, the NHRC's efforts to protect the rights of migrant workers were highlighted, particularly the organization's awareness campaigns on heat stress, occupational health, and legal assistance. The parties also discussed future cooperation prospects in protecting journalists and human rights defenders, as well as combating hate speech and discrimination.

The NHRC emphasized that these meetings are part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening communication channels with international institutions and developing partnerships to address shared humanitarian issues.
