Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) received James Holmes, Secretary General of the International Communities Organisation (ICO), and Sadeeqa Masood Ahmed, Director of Strategic Business Development at the International University of Management.
The meeting reviewed the NIHR mechanism to monitor human rights in the Kingdom as well as the institution’s vital role in providing counseling to the government for it to fulfill its international and local human rights obligations.
They also discussed conducting human rights educational programmes for all sectors of society.
The ICO Secretary General praised the role of the NIHR in promoting and protecting human rights and wished Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.
