Doha: The Pakistani army announced on Monday the killing of nine militants in a security operation in the northwest of the country. The army said that its forces carried out the operation based on intelligence, after having tracked the militants in the districts of Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and Bagh in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and managing to seize a number of weapons.
According to Qatar News Agency, for some time now, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has been witnessing escalating security tensions and several clashes between government forces and armed groups that carry out attacks against civilians and security forces.
