Riyadh: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its praise and appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's initiative to hold a comprehensive conference in Riyadh. This initiative comes in response to the request of the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, aiming to involve various southern components in discussions on fair solutions to the southern issue through a comprehensive and responsible dialogue.
According to Qatar News Agency, Secretary-General of the OIC, Hissein Brahim Taha, emphasized that this initiative reflects Saudi Arabia's leadership in promoting peace and dialogue. He highlighted that sincere and inclusive dialogue is essential for achieving lasting peace and stability in Yemen.
The Secretary-General underscored that addressing national issues, particularly the southern issue, requires dialogue, understanding, and consensus, considering historical and social contexts to prevent further fragmentation and division in Yemen.
Taha also noted that Yemen's unity, security, and stability are crucial for the entire region. He commended Saudi Arabia's role in supporting Yemeni legitimacy and promoting dialogue. The Secretary-General urged all parties to engage positively to serve Yemen's interests and enhance regional peace and stability.
