Jeddah, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday welcomed the humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip, commending the mediation efforts made by the State of Qatar and Egypt in this regard.
In a statement today , the organization stressed the importance of exerting efforts to reach a complete halt to the brutal Israeli occupation aggression on the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, underlining the necessity of providing humanitarian and medical aid and basic needs to Gaza in a sustainable manner.
OIC also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
A four-day humanitarian pause, mediated by Qatar, Egypt, and US came into effect in the Gaza Strip early Friday.
This is the first pause since the beginning od Israeli occupation aggressions on Gaza on Oct. 7, which left over 15,000 martyrs, including 6,150 children, more than 4,000 women, and at least 36,000 others injured.
