Oil Prices Fall by Over 2 Percent at Settlement

New york: Oil prices fell more than 2 percent at settlement today as traders grew more confident that tensions in the Middle East were easing. According to Qatar News Agency, Brent crude futures fell USD 1.94, or 2.04 percent, to USD 93.09 a barrel, after dropping 2.84 percent in the previous session. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures also saw a decline, falling USD 2.50, or 2.69 percent, to USD 90.54 a barrel, following losses of 3.1 percent on Thursday. Both benchmarks are on track for their first weekly gains in three weeks, with Brent up 1.18 percent and WTI up about 3.64 percent.
