Doha: Oil prices have surged on Tuesday to reach their highest levels in weeks: Brent crude futures climbed USD 1.25, or 1.3 percent, to USD 98.25 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate crude was at USD 93.70 a barrel, up USD 2.22, or 2.4 percent.
According to Qatar News Agency, Brent crude hit USD 98.79 a barrel, its highest level since July 24, while WTI reached USD 94.21 a barrel, its highest since June 8.
