Old Doha Port Achieves Milestone with Over 7 Million Visitors in 2025

Doha: Old Doha Port unveiled significant achievements in 2025, marking a remarkable year in tourism performance and maritime operations with record figures across key indicators. The Port expanded its international presence and implemented initiatives that boosted visitor demand, aligning with Qatar's national vision for tourism sector growth.

According to Qatar News Agency, CEO of Old Doha Port Eng. Mohammed Abdulla Al Mulla highlighted the year as a pivotal moment for the Port as a premier maritime tourism destination. The Port welcomed over 7 million visitors and maintained a 97 percent occupancy rate, alongside qualitative developments like the air-conditioned promenade and expanded marina services. These efforts have placed Old Doha Port firmly on the global maritime tourism map.

Maritime tourism saw robust growth during the 2024-2025 season, with 87 cruise ships and over 396,000 passengers, reinforcing the Port's role as Qatar's primary maritime gateway. Leasing activities were also strong, with a 97 percent occupancy rate and over 60 pop-up retail outlets supporting local businesses.

Throughout the year, several infrastructure and service developments were introduced, including the Minakom service to streamline maritime entry procedures, a water transport service for high-traffic events, and an air-conditioned promenade for year-round comfort. The Mina Corniche Marina was developed to increase berthing capacity, and the Port completed upgrades to public facilities.

Locally, the Qatar Boat Show 2025 achieved unprecedented success with over 27,000 visitors and a 33 percent increase in participating entities. The event featured 505 brands and more than 65 yachts. The Port also introduced the Fishing Exhibition and Competition, recording the largest participation of its kind in Qatar.

Furthermore, Old Doha Port hosted over 100 local and international events, reinforcing its status as a destination for diverse events. National occasions like Qatar National Sports Day and Ramadan celebrations attracted large numbers of visitors, enhancing community engagement.

Regionally, Old Doha Port strengthened its marina partnerships, including a collaboration with Dubai Harbour and JLS Yachts, enhancing yacht management services. The Port also participated in the Dubai International Boat Show and the Monaco Yacht Show, showcasing its advanced infrastructure and commitment to sustainable luxury yachting.

Looking forward, Old Doha Port aims to advance its event portfolio and partnerships, fostering innovative visitor experiences in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy for economic diversification and sustainable tourism growth.
