Muscat: The Omani-East African Business Conference and the East Africa Trade and Investment Exhibition 2025 (ETEX 2025) commenced on Monday, organized by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event is designed to enhance economic ties between the regions.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference brings together government officials, industry leaders, investors, and trade representatives from East African countries, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, and Rwanda, alongside participants from the Sultanate of Oman. The focus is on building stronger regional economic connections.
More than 20 economic experts are actively involved in the conference, while over 30 companies from both the Sultanate of Oman and East Africa are participating in the exhibition. They are showcasing technologies, solutions, and services across sectors such as agriculture, clean energy, manufacturing, and technology.
The conference agenda highlights opportunities for cooperation in various sectors. These include trade and investment, sustainable development and renewable energy, financial technology and digital transformation, infrastructure and logistics services, agribusiness and food security, education and human capital development, and innovation.
