Doha: The Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show concluded on Saturday after four days of competition at the Longines Outdoor Arena at Al Shaqab, featuring an elite lineup of purebred Arabian horses from Qatar and the region. The final day of the championship saw the crowning of winners across the filly, colt, mare, and stallion categories.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Yearling Fillies category was won by Shihanah KL, whereas Dandon KL won the Yearling Colts Championship. Shaella Al Wajba received the Junior Fillies Championship’s (3 Years Old) gold medal, whereas Yulib Al Shahania won the Junior Colts Championship’s (2-3 Years Old) title. Thorya Al Hawajer topped the Senior Mares Championship, whilst Wajeeh Aljassimya won the Senior Stallions Championship.
First-place winners in all categories received a cash prize of QR 100,000, while the second-place winners earned QR 70,000, and third-place winners received QR 50,000. This year’s edition continued to include the foal categories (young fillies and colts), introduced for the first time in the previous edition, as part of Al Shaqab’s commitment to supporting the full breeding cycle of purebred Arabian horses and providing a platform to showcase promising bloodlines from an early stage.
Executive Director of Al Shaqab Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Attiya stated that Al Shaqab’s commitment goes beyond competition, as it is rooted in preserving and elevating the legacy of the Arabian horse on the global stage. Each year, breeders, owners, and enthusiasts united by this passion come together in this event, Al Attiya continued, saying that this year’s remarkable excellence reflects Qatar’s ongoing role in shaping the future of Arabian horse shows and breeding worldwide, celebrating their timeless beauty.
