Pakistan Military Announces Successful Operation Resulting in Deaths of 9 Militants

Doha: The Pakistani military on Tuesday announced that its forces killed nine militants during a military operation in the northwest of the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, the military forces conducted this operation based on intelligence information, following the monitoring of militant movements in Lakki Marwat District, Bannu District, and the Waziristan region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in the northwestern part of the country, which ultimately led to the killing of nine militants, the military said in a statement.

It added that two Pakistani troops were killed during the clashes with those militants.

Noteworthy, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province has been witnessing a growing uptick in security tensions for some time, with multiple clashes erupting between government forces and armed groups carrying out attacks against civilians and security personnel.
