Ramallah: Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa held discussions with Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard during her visit to Ramallah, focusing on the latest developments in Palestine. The talks were particularly centered on the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip and the attacks by occupation forces and settlers in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
According to Qatar News Agency, Prime Minister Mustafa emphasized the importance of increasing international pressure to halt the ongoing conflict against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. He advocated for a sustainable ceasefire and the reopening of all crossings with the Strip, which is essential for implementing the reconstruction plan with the support of friendly countries and international partners.
During the meeting, Mustafa informed Stenergard about the Israeli occupation army's actions in the northern West Bank governorates. He highlighted the destruction of infrastructure, demolition of homes and facilities, and the forced displacement of residents in the camps. Additionally, he addressed issues such as continued colonial expansion, settler attacks, and the illegal deductions from Palestinian tax revenues.
Swedish Foreign Minister Stenergard reiterated the necessity of achieving a sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and expressed her country's opposition to all illegal colonial actions, in line with international law and legitimacy. She also stressed the importance of ongoing support for Palestine and its people, particularly in terms of relief and humanitarian efforts.
