Paris Hosts Runway to Web Summit Qatar 2027 Event

Paris:The Government Communications Office and the Embassy of the State of Qatar in France organized the second promotional Runway to Web Summit Qatar 2027 event in Paris. This initiative is part of the preparations for the summit's fourth edition, which will be held from January 31 to February 3, 2027, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

According to Qatar News Agency, Business France announced during the event that it will lead a trade delegation to the summit through a dedicated pavilion for French companies, investors, and partners. This move aims to enhance the presence of French startups, enabling them to showcase their innovations to the global technology and investment community.

The French delegation will feature prominent companies and institutions, including Mistral AI, LVMH, and Bpifrance. The event also focused on expanding international participation and fostering cooperation between the Qatari and French tech ecosystems, with over 100 representatives, investors, and entrepreneurs from both countries in attendance.

His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to France, highlighted the strategic investment partnership between Qatar and France, focusing on sectors like artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and digital technologies. He emphasized the mutual benefits of this collaboration, with Qatar offering investment capacity and infrastructure, while France provides scientific and technological expertise.

Soud Ahmed Al Boinin of the GCO noted that Paris was chosen for its vibrant startup ecosystem. He highlighted the significant increase in French startup participation at the Doha summit since its inception. Dr. Hamad Rashid Al Naimi of Invest Qatar emphasized Qatar's value to startups, describing Web Summit Qatar as a gateway into a highly connected ecosystem.

Craig Becker, Chief Events Officer at Web Summit, remarked on Doha's appeal as a host city, citing its vibrant business community and startup ecosystem. Laurence de Touchet of Business France pointed out Qatar's growing position as a regional tech hub, which will be showcased through the French pavilion at the summit.

The promotional tour for Web Summit Qatar 2027 began at the Qatari Embassy in Washington, D.C., and will continue to Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Stockholm, engaging key tech stakeholders in preparation for the summit. The Runway series is part of Qatar's strategy to boost its global standing in innovation and entrepreneurship, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.
