President of QOC Engages in Strategic Meetings at World Aquatics Championships

Doha: HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and First Vice-President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, engaged in a series of strategic meetings on the sidelines of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore with various sports officials.

According to Qatar News Agency, Sheikh Joaan met separately with HE President of the Japanese Olympic Committee, Seiko Hashimoto, HRH Vice-President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, and First Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, Otabek Amrulov. The focus of these discussions was to explore opportunities for enhancing sports cooperation between the QOC and its Japanese, Saudi, and Uzbek counterparts. They shared insights on key sports issues within Asia, prioritizing athlete development and the exchange of technical and administrative expertise.

The meetings also addressed preparations for significant upcoming events, including the Asian Games Nagoya 2026 and the Islamic Solidarity Games Riyadh 2025. Discussions centered around collaboration efforts to organize these events in ways that meet the aspirations of the Asian sports movement.

These discussions form part of a broader initiative by HE Sheikh Joaan to engage with leaders of the Olympic movement in Asia. The objective is to strengthen bilateral cooperation, promote the sharing of expertise among national Olympic committees, and advance the profile of Asian sports both regionally and globally.
