Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received two telephone calls today from HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Republic of Turkiye Hakan Fidan. The discussions focused on the escalating military tensions in the region and the severe implications this holds for both regional and international security. The conversations also explored peaceful solutions to existing disputes.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the calls, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the targeting of Qatari territory with Iranian ballistic missiles represented a direct violation of national sovereignty. He highlighted that such actions are inconsistent with principles of good neighborliness and are unacceptable under any justification. His Excellency reiterated Qatar's commitment to staying out of regional conflicts and its efforts to mediate dialogue between Iran and the international community. Despite these efforts, the renewed missile targeting undermines the foundation of mutual understanding and bilateral relations between Qatar and Iran.
The Egyptian and Turkish Ministers of Foreign Affairs expressed their strong condemnation of the Iranian missile attack, labeling it a blatant violation of Qatar's sovereignty, its airspace, international law, and the UN Charter.
