Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani received a phone call from HE High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas. The conversation focused on the recent military escalation in the region, its impact on regional and international security, and the potential for peaceful resolution of disputes.
According to Qatar News Agency, during the call, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the targeting of Qatari territory with Iranian ballistic missiles was a clear violation of national sovereignty and inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness. He stressed that Qatar has consistently aimed to facilitate dialogue between Iran and the international community, but the missile attack undermines trust and bilateral relations.
HE the Prime Minister urged an immediate cessation of escalatory actions and a return to negotiations, highlighting the importance of reason and wisdom in resolving the crisis. He called for efforts to maintain regional security.
In response, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs condemned the Iranian missile attack, labeling it a violation of Qatar's sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter.
