Prime Minister of Somalia Discusses Strengthening Cooperation with World Bank Official

Mogadishu: Prime Minister of Somalia Hamza Abdi Barre met on Monday with Marie-Porter Peshka, the Regional Director for East Africa at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, who is currently visiting Somalia, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides.

According to Qatar News Agency, the talks focused specifically on the implementation of Somalia's National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025-2029). This plan serves as a crucial framework for developing economic infrastructure, advancing the private sector, enhancing participation in development projects that are mutually beneficial, and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

During the meeting, the Somali Prime Minister highlighted that the country has achieved progress in income growth in recent years. For her part, the IFC East Africa Director reiterated the Corporation's commitment to furthering cooperation with the Somali government.
