Qatar Airways and Air Algerie Launch Codeshare Partnership to Enhance Connectivity

Doha: Qatar Airways and Air Algerie have announced the launch of a codeshare partnership aimed at enhancing seamless connectivity between Algeria and key markets in Asia and the Middle East through Hamad International Airport, recognized globally for its excellence.

According to Qatar News Agency, the partnership allows travelers to book codeshare flights starting from today for journeys commencing on 15 November 2025. This initiative builds on the existing interline partnership between the two airlines, providing Qatar Airways customers with easier access to Algiers and six other significant destinations within Air Algerie’s domestic network, including Annaba, Constantine, Oran, Tamanrasset, Timimoun, and Tindouf. Additionally, Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club members will benefit by earning Avios on codeshare flights operated by Air Algerie.

The agreement also benefits Air Algerie passengers, who can now enjoy more travel options to destinations like Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Muscat via codeshare flights with Qatar Airways. Plans are underway to expand this codeshare agreement to include even more destinations.

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, highlighting the strengthened presence in key African markets and the added travel choices and connectivity to the Middle East and Asia. He emphasized the strategic importance of partnerships like the one with Air Algerie in enhancing global connectivity through Hamad International Airport, which has been awarded as the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for 11 consecutive years and ‘World’s Best Airport’ in 2021, 2022, and 2024.

Air Algerie’s Head of Commercial Division, Samy El Karim Boutemadja, remarked that the codeshare agreement would enhance the airline’s positioning in the Middle East and Asia, offering customers broader travel possibilities and promoting Algeria as a travel destination. He noted that the agreement aligns with Air Algerie’s global strategy to expand its network through its Algiers hub, and he anticipates a successful partnership with Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways currently maintains 30 interline and six codeshare agreements with airlines across Africa, operating 213 weekly flights to 30 cities in 21 African countries.
