Doha: The Qatar Armed Force's Triathlon Championship 2024-2025 was concluded after it had been organized by the Military Sports Association. The Amiri Air Force team clinched the first place in the overall standings, comprising both officers and personnel, with the Air Defense Force team snagging the second place, while the Amiri Naval Force's team ranked third.
According to Qatar News Agency, in the officers' team ranking, the Amiri Air Force secured first place, followed by the Amiri Naval Force in second and the National Service Academy in third. In the personnel ranking, the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya)'s team clinched the first place, followed by the Air Defense Force's team in second, and the Qatar Armed Force's military band in third.
Upon the conclusion of the tournament, Deputy Chief of Staff for Education, Maj. Gen. Jassim bin Ahmed Al Mohannadi, who patronized the tournament, crowned the winners and handed over commemorative shields to the participating teams. Ten teams representing various military units participated in this tournament, alongside Lekhwiya's team, the Police Institute, and the Turkish forces.
Head of the athletics department at the Military Sports Association, Lt Col. Khaled Al Suwaidi, stated that this event is held annually and contemporaneously marks the International Day of Military Sports 2025 (CISM). Al Suwaidi highlighted that the tournament intends to demonstrate the physical fitness of officers and soldiers, which requires full endurance, as well as both individual and team high performance.
