Qatar Basketball Federation to Host Sports Integrity Workshop

Doha: The Qatar Basketball Federation (QBA) is set to organize a workshop focused on sports integrity in collaboration with the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS). Scheduled to take place at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum on Tuesday, the event will engage national and club basketball teams from Qatar, including men's, women's, U16 men's, and U16 women's teams, in a practical session dedicated to maintaining the integrity of the sport within the country.

According to Qatar News Agency, the workshop's program is crafted in alignment with the FIBA Code of Ethics and Integrity and the QBA Disciplinary Regulations 2026. The primary objective of this initiative is to bolster the integrity of Qatari basketball by delving into the QBA's stance on governance and integrity. Additionally, the ICSS will contribute by outlining rules and general frameworks and by discussing lessons drawn from real-life cases across various sports.

The workshop represents a significant step in ensuring the ethical practice of basketball in Qatar, providing participants with valuable insights and frameworks to uphold the sport's integrity.
