Doha: Al-Watan newspaper affirmed that the Qatar Central Bank's 2025 Annual Macroeconomic Review demonstrated the strength and resilience of the Qatari economy and its ability to confront challenges and absorb shocks with high efficiency, thanks to sound fiscal policies and economic diversification strategies within the framework of Qatar National Vision 2030.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspaper pointed out that the substantial sovereign reserves, the strength of the banking sector, and modern infrastructure contributed to supporting the growth of non-oil sectors, with non-hydrocarbon GDP recording growth of 4.8%. This continued its strong performance as the main driver of economic growth, reflecting the ongoing expansion of the country's economic activity base.
The newspaper noted that the Qatari economy maintained limited levels of inflation during 2025, with price pressures concentrated in a limited number of items in the consumer basket. This indicates that the price environment remained stable, with pressures confined to specific components of the consumer basket.
Al-Watan concluded by saying that the Qatari economy delivered a balanced performance last year, combining real growth, price stability, a strong external position, and flexible financial markets, which enhances confidence in the state ability to continue implementing economic diversification policies and consolidate its position as one of the most stable economies in the region, with a remarkable performance in the tourism sector, which constitutes an important addition to the activity of the private sector, and confirms its growing role in supporting economic activity and diversifying its sources.
