Doha: Qatar Chamber has initiated discussions with senior officials from Ecuador and India to bolster trade and investment relations and enhance cooperation between the private sectors of the respective countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani recently met with HE Alejandro Davalos, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, alongside HE Ecuador's Charge d'Affaires to Qatar, Carlos Zambrano. The discussions centered on the economic and trade relations between Qatar and Ecuador, highlighting opportunities for collaboration between businesses from both nations.
The possibility of organizing a Qatar-Ecuador Business Meeting during the first quarter of 2027 was also explored. This event aims to bring together business leaders and investors to delve into key sectors, investment opportunities, and potential partnerships. Sheikh Khalifa expressed Qatar Chamber's commitment to fostering communication between the business communities of both countries to boost trade, investment, and joint ventures.
In another significant engagement, Sheikh Khalifa met with Dr Wael Awad, Acting Secretary-General of the Arab-Indian Chamber of Commerce, to discuss the economic and trade relations between Qatar and India. Their talks revolved around potential cooperation, partnerships, and investment opportunities between businesses from both countries.
Dr Awad extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber, along with Qatari business leaders and investors, to participate in the Indian Economic Forum, scheduled for December 18-19, 2026. This forum is expected to serve as a platform for exploring new cooperation and investment opportunities, especially in sectors such as agriculture, artificial intelligence, and tourism.
