Qatar Chamber Engages with Russian Businesswomen to Boost Bilateral Cooperation


Doha: The Qatar Chamber has hosted a delegation from the International Women’s Federation of Russia, headed by Alfia Amirova, President of the Federation. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the tourism and medical tourism sectors, supporting female entrepreneurs, and establishing an electronic platform for communication and training. It also reviewed successful models of trade and investment projects in Qatar and Russia, and the possibility of establishing a joint trade and business center.



According to Qatar News Agency, the delegation was received by Member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Chamber and Chairperson of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, and in the presence of Director of the Research and Studies Department at the Qatar Chamber Noura Al Awlan. Al Ahmadani expressed that the Qatar Chamber welcomes the delegation from the International Women’s Federation and the strengthening of cooperation between Qatari and Russian businesswomen, noting the opportunities available for collaboration in different sectors.



Al Ahmadani further explained that the Chamber anticipates productive partnerships with the Russian International Women’s Federation, which will support businesswomen and develop their capabilities at both local and international levels. She emphasized the Qatari Businesswomen Forum’s commitment to enhancing communication and cooperation between Qatari and Russian businesswomen. Highlighting the importance of women’s economic empowerment as a sustainable development driver, she expressed pride in the achievements of Qatari women across various sectors, attributing these successes to the significant support from the country’s leadership.



Additionally, Al Ahmadani suggested the possibility of hosting a forum for Qatari and Russian businesswomen in Qatar to discuss cooperation prospects and explore investment opportunities. Alfia Amirova, on behalf of the Russian side, expressed interest in exporting halal Russian food and agricultural products to Qatar, underscoring the union’s focus on cooperation in tourism, food security, and trade sectors. She proposed launching a Qatari center in Moscow to promote Qatari products and invited Qatari businesswomen to participate in the “By Women’s Hands” exhibition in Moscow this November.



Amirova also presented a proposal for an electronic platform to facilitate information exchange and expertise sharing between businesswomen from both countries, identifying potential investment opportunities. The International Women’s Federation, based in Moscow, seeks to support businesswomen and small to medium-sized enterprises, fostering communication, idea exchange, and the expansion of trade relations to promote goods and services internationally.
