Muscat: The State of Qatar participated in the eighth Indian Ocean Conference (IOC) held in Muscat, the Sultanate of Oman, under the theme 'Voyage to New Horizons of Maritime Partnership.' In the conference, the State of Qatar was represented by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi.
According to Qatar News Agency, the conference focused on enhancing maritime partnerships, improving trade links, supporting sustainable development, and addressing issues related to maritime security and freedom of navigation. The discussions also emphasized the importance of utilizing modern technology to enhance port security and governance.
