Qatar Engages in EU-GCC Business Forum Focused on Economic Ties


Doha: The State of Qatar took part in the 9th EU-GCC Business Forum, which was conducted in Kuwait under the theme “Together for Shared Prosperity”. The event, concluding today, brought together numerous senior government officials and business leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the European Union (EU).



According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar’s delegation was led by Assistant Undersecretary for Industry and Business Development at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Saleh bin Majid Al Khulaifi. The forum’s primary objective was to bolster economic relations between the EU and GCC nations through supporting economic diversification and exploring avenues to enhance trade and investment cooperation.



Discussions during the forum covered crucial topics, including trade and investment, digital economy, artificial intelligence, innovation, the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), capacity building, and the empowerment of youth and entrepreneurs. An associated exhibition and meetings between public and private sector representatives aimed to explore cooperation opportunities and establish promising investment partnerships.



Assistant Undersecretary Al Khulaifi participated in a panel discussion focused on trade and investment, which explored strategies to enhance trade relations, support joint investment frameworks, and promote economic diversification between the EU and GCC countries.
